Minis in a shallow basket
A low basket groups four minis without turning them into a piled mound.
A low stack of closed books gives a pair of small pumpkins a quieter backdrop.
The straight edges of the books make the rounded fruit easier to notice. Keeping fruit beside the books avoids pressure and moisture marks on the covers.
Leave one end of the shelf open so the arrangement still reads as part of a working room.
Clear a section of shelf and check its normal load limit.
Stack two closed books flat, away from the shelf edge.
Place the small pumpkin beside the books rather than on top of them.
Add a mini on the opposite side and keep the book spines visible.
Check that neither fruit can roll towards the edge before leaving the display.
Use an empty storage box instead of books that could be marked.
Choose a low sideboard if the shelf is high or difficult to check.
Keep the display sheltered and away from direct sun. Check for soft spots, leakage and unstable placement. Remove damaged fruit promptly; painted or carved display fruit is not for eating.
