The little doorstep
Three pumpkins, one pot and enough breathing room to let every shape stand out.
A smaller display designed to be easy to move when the weather turns.
The tray is a way to move and check the group, rather than a promise that the arrangement can remain outside in rain.
Choose a weight you can lift comfortably. Two small trays can be more practical than one full tray.
Find a covered corner that stays dry and does not interrupt access.
Place the smaller pumpkins on a washable tray with enough space to lift them.
Add the minis without stacking fruit or trapping stems.
Check after rain; dry the tray and move the fruit under better cover if water reaches it.
Split the arrangement across two small trays if the full tray would be heavy.
Use an indoor windowsill or table if no dry outdoor corner exists.
Keep the display sheltered and away from direct sun. Check for soft spots, leakage and unstable placement. Remove damaged fruit promptly; painted or carved display fruit is not for eating.
