Paper leaves, no carving
A small craft session with loose paper decorations and intact pumpkins.
A reusable paper stencil makes a restrained pattern on four decorative minis.
A repeated shape is easier to combine than several unrelated patterns. Leaving plain rind between marks keeps the fruit shape visible.
Test the paper pattern separately first. The decorative result is not a reason to return painted fruit to food use.
Reserve four minis for decoration only and protect the table.
Choose an original geometric paper pattern and have an adult cut the openings.
Read the paint instructions, including ventilation and age guidance.
Hold the stencil gently and dab a few marks without cutting the rind.
Remove the stencil, dry as instructed and keep painted fruit separate from food.
Use removable paper shapes beside the fruit if you prefer no coating.
Reuse an existing brush and keep the pattern sparse rather than covering the whole surface.
Keep the display sheltered and away from direct sun. Check for soft spots, leakage and unstable placement. Remove damaged fruit promptly; painted or carved display fruit is not for eating.
